The Piller Roner- Benedetti family’s roots are in Sappada, where they have been running hotels since 1840, when their forefathers built the first tavern with rooms to rent in Cima Sappada, called “La Pace”. In 1923, work began to build the Alle Alpi hotel, also in Cima Sappada, which was opened in 1928 by our great-grandfather. Our grandfather, Luigi (Gigi), then took over the management of this hotel, followed by his daughter, Mariarosa. The history of Hotel Haus Michaela dates back to 1979, when Giorgio and Mariarosa, the parents of the current owner, Fabrizio, transformed a private home into a hotel. The hotel was then expanded and continuously improved, making Hotel Haus Michaela what it is today: a top hotel in the Piave valley. Hotel Haus Michaela has a peaceful yet central location in Sappada, surrounded by a 10,000 m2 garden amid the stunning Alpine landscape of the Dolomites. Lovers of winter sports will particularly love our hotel's prime location, just a stone’s throw away from a world of exciting possibilities: the cross-country stadium, the Sappada 2000 chairlift, the Pian dei Nidi chairlift, the stop for the Dotto train/ski bus service (free) to and from Nevelandia. Our hotel is the ideal starting point for wonderful trips and excursions in the Dolomites. The hotel offers its guests large areas with lounges featuring traditional Tyrolean majolica stove, bar, small library, TV room, games room for children with entertainment service, relaxation room, convention/meeting room with large screen for the projection of films and a covered terrace (winter garden) overlooking the cross-country track.
